The K-State Rural Education Center (REC) has been actively exploring how to empower teachers in rural schools with new Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) learning experiences. The REC’s recent publication detailed developing best practices for implementing VR/AR learning experiences with K-12 students (Ebrahimi et al., 2023). Their most recent research (submitted for publication) explored the specific needs and considerations for successfully implementing these innovative tools based on input from participating teachers within the Kansas Association of Rural Schools. Now the REC is actively seeking teachers interested in furthering research over more specific training and classroom support considerations.

The Rural Education Center (REC), at Kansas State University, is actively looking to provide teachers with the necessary tools to explore some of the best applications being used in STEM and other core subject areas, what training students and teachers need to reliably setup and utilize the required technology, and what pedagogical considerations learning communities should consider for ideal learning experiences using Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality (VR/AR) applications.

If you are a teacher within the KARE network interested in furthering active research over VR/AR learning experiences, please reach out to ennisrios@ksu.edu to discuss how you can get involved.
